Ready for Idol and Piers....?

Isn't it interesting about all the strange and unusual weather we are having?  Isn't it also interesting that we did not have much of a hurricane season this year? 


It is a first step to providing some competition, but giving Verizon the iPhone without 4G capabilities is like trying to play tennis with one hand tied behind your back, the one with the racket.  It is going to be a big strain on the system using only CDMA.  I can't imagine what would happen though, say if Verizon sells a million iPhones, then Apple comes out with the 4G model, and EVERYONE upgrades and uses the 4G capabilities ALL AT ONCE!

The outlandish contests and bickering between the judges made watching American Idol worthwhile in the beginning of the season.  The singers made it worthwhile in the second half of the season.  Now with Simon Cowell, Ellen Degeneres, Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul gone, the show will just about be completely different.  I hoping for the better, but we shall see...

I'm also looking forward to seeing the first week of Piers Morgan Tonight starting next Monday with Oprah Winfrey. When he is a judge (don't know if he still is) on America's Got Talent, he is USUALLY the judge that gets booed- on TV and here at home.  I know we will miss Larry King, but this guy is talented and (theoretically) can turn this into HIS show instead of a substitute "Larry King Live".

A blonde from California decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no lessons or prior experience.

She mounts the horse unassisted and the horse immediately springs into motion. It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slip from the saddle.

In terror, she grabs for the horse's mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, but she slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly oblivious to its slipping rider.

Finally, giving up her frail grip, she leaps away from the horse to try and throw herself to safety.

Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled in the stirrup, she is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground over and over. As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness when to her great fortune . . .

the Supermarket manager sees her and shuts the horse off.  

During their vacation and while they were visiting Jerusalem, George's mother-in-law died.

With death certificates in hand, George went to the American Consulate Office to make arrangements to send the body back to the states for proper burial.

The Consul, after hearing of the death of the
mother-in-law told George that the sending of a body back to the states for burial is very, very expensive. It could cost as much as $5,000.00.

The Consul continues, in most cases the person responsible for the remains normally decides to bury the body here. This would only cost $150.00.

George thinks for some time and answers, "I don't care how much it will cost to send the body back; that's what I want to do."

The Consul, after hearing this, says, "You must have loved your mother-in-law very much considering the difference in price."

"No, it's not that," says George. "You see, I know of a case years ago of a person that was buried here in Jerusalem. On the third day he arose from the dead!

I just can't take that chance.
