Raining like cats-and-dogs (whatever that means) outside. It was a good day to put away the remaining Christmas decorations and tree ornaments and get them back into the attic. We carried the tree outside (in the rain) and finished the rest of the INSIDE of the house. I still have decorations OUTSIDE to take down and put away.
Wouldn't it be something if houses were built with strips of LEDs embedded all over? They could be left exposed or covered with a thin strip until needed for a holiday, when they would be powered on. Even rain gutters could be built with obscured decorations built in, just waiting for power to cause them to light.
A woman answered her front door and found two little boys standing there holding a long list.
"Excuse me," one of them explained, "we're on a scavenger hunt,
and we still need three grains of wheat, a pork-chop bone and a
piece of used carbon paper to earn a dollar."
"Wow," the woman replied. "Who sent you on such a challenging hunt?"
"Our baby-sitter's boyfriend."
Old Aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, “You’re next.”
They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.
